Reasons for blogging

What we are able to contribute matters.” (L) Christine Toda

In this world, as I know it, as we know it, amongst the chaos, and natural disasters – one cannot help feel the overwhelming grief, and sadness.

I need to believe that the little acts of kindnesses make a difference.

To hope. To care. To love.

I realize, I live in a “free country”, and am grateful, grateful always for the opportunities afforded me.  For years I considered blogging, and finally found the desire and courage.  “I’m not ready to do that to thinking I want to do that – and I’ll learn by doing that.” (W) Sheryl Sandberg, from her book Lean In.  Her words gave me the strength to hit the “publish” button.

And…so…previously I would never have used coordinating conjunctions to start a sentence, research indicates it is fine. 🙂

Philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson “todally inspires” me.  He will be quoted much. When possible, the originators of quotes will be credited. Quotes are a significant part of this blog. As a collector, I have sourced them from people, books, movies – everywhere – for years.

To be inspired.

I will be doing a series of print interviews with people who inspire me.

Books:  I have a love affair with them, will summarize same, to provide sufficient information so you can decide if it is a read worth perusing.

June 2016, I retired. I purchased my first smart phone, and sent my first text. Recently I had social media set up, including: Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Although, I have yet to sign onto all these accounts as I haven’t figured them out – yet!

Those who know me, are amazed at how much I have learned about technology. “How do I save a document?”…uh hum…it’s true!  If I can do a blog, believe me, anyone can.  I am learning through the process.  Please bear with me, or bare with me, either is okay! 🙂

I will apologize up front, as I will make mistakes.  Grammatical, formatting, misquotes, typos, spacing. Remember Alexander Pope’s quote from An Essay on Criticism, “To Err is human, to forgive divine.” (LL) Alexander Pope.

I’ve researched, and realize there are internet trolls. “Unfortunately there are those whose happiness lies in criticism and complaint.” (J) Jeraldine Saunders.  We cannot control what others think, and do, we can only control how we respond.

Being a foodie, there will be posts dedicated to food. “Talking about food is like talking about your dreams. Everyone has something to say. We all have to eat, it’s just what we eat which differs. Some people eat for fuel and I feel bad for them.” (T) Gael Garcia Bernal

Christine’s “Go To” favourite food products and places will be revealed.

On this journey may we all meet like-minded individuals. I have already met awe-inspiring, thought-provoking people whose blogs, thoughts, and articles will be shared.

I aim to:  Blog consistently, once a week, Thursdays.

If anyone notices anything not functioning, please let me know.  I did choose a “responsive” theme, should display in full on your mobile devices.

I appreciate your time, and the lending of your ears.
